My name is Tom Mearns. I live in Bournemouth and I'm a freelance web designer.

Background

I started designing websites in London ten years ago freelancing for web and advertising agencies such as Ogilvy, Publicis, Mook, DLKW and various web start-ups.

Now I'm in Bournemouth my work is a mixture of contract work and designing websites for small businesses and individuals.

Before I designed websites I worked on pop promos and commercials as a runner, in the art department and as a production assistant for a film company. I have also been an extra in a few movies.

For fun…

In my free time I take a few pictures, climb the occasional tree and I’m currently trying to improve my tennis.

The photo above is of a large spray can on canvas of my daughter Betsy that I painted.

The bowling trophy was a bit of a fluke but nonetheless I still won it!

About this site

I launched the new look subfusion on 17/08/08. The work featured in my portfolio is mostly 'complete' sites that I have designed. I'm not just about sites though — I create banners, emails, a bit of illustration, and I've done some media skins too. Anything thats digital. The slide show on the home page features some favourites from the archive. More updates soon…
